Tanla Solutions ltd. announces First Quarter results for Financial Year 2009
Total Revenue up 78.68% y-o-y and Net Profit up 69.60% y-o-y
Hyderabad, India, 14th July 2008 - Tanla Solutions Ltd., leading telecommunications software', and services provider with worldwide operations has reported Total Revenues of Rs.168.87 Crores for the Quarter ended 30th• June 2008 against Rs. 94.51 Crores for the corresponding. quarter of 2007 on a consolidated basis. This registers a rise of 78.68%. Net Profits have increased by 69.60% to Rs. 56.41 crores as compared with the same period last year. EPS for the quarter ended 30th• June stood at Rs. 5.64. On a sequential basis Total Revenues have increased by 14.71%. EBITDA margins stood at 48.20% for the quarter on a consolidated basis.
Mr. Uday Reddy, Chairman and MD of Tanla Solutions said of the results; "The last quarter has been exciting with milestones achieved with our acquisition of Openbit which gives us a global footprint inside millions of handsets to enable on device payments. We would focus on completing full integration by this quarter even as our aggregator platform has already been integrated with Openbit. Going forward our organic growth in new geographies and products would be emphasized."
Highlights for the quarter:
- Tanla acquired 85% in Finland based Openbit for US$15.81 million at a total valuation of US$18.60 million.
- Integration with Tanla's UK aggregation platform complete. Accounts & Finance, HR and R&D to be completed during Q2.
- 18 new content providers' clients added in UK and Ireland and 20 in India.
- Premium SMS partnerships live with all operators in India.
- Interactive Campaign Manager product launched in India, to help enterprises / telecom operators manage, set and run mobile campaigns.
- M-raga product (an innovative mobile radio service) signed up with Airtel in 2 circles. Service to roll out in the Second Quarter.
- Empanelled with COKE as partner to provide mobile marketing solutions in India.
- Signed up Tanla ITV services with 5 media companies (India News, Space TV, CNEB, Voice of India, and EnterrlO).
- India News and Space TV go live with Tanla ITV solution.
- Signed up voice portals with BSNL - setting up voice portals in all 23 circles in India covering both GSM & PSTN networks. Services to be live in Q2 across the country.
- Connectivity agreements signed with all operators in Spain, South Africa, Dubai and Singapore, revenues to commence from Q2.
- Employee intake of 145 during the quarter taking the global workforce to 526.
