A

A2P Messaging

Application-to-Person messaging, where an application sends messages to a mobile user. This is commonly used for notifications, alerts, and marketing messages sent from businesses to customers.

AI Chatbot

An artificial intelligence program that can simulate a conversation with users in natural language through messaging applications, websites, mobile apps, or the telephone. AI chatbots are used for customer service, support, and engagement.

API Gateway

A server that acts as an API front-end, receiving API requests, enforcing throttling and security policies, passing requests to the back-end service, and then passing the response back to the requester. API gateways help manage and secure API traffic.

API Integration

The process of connecting different software applications and systems through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to enable data exchange and functionality sharing. This integration allows for seamless communication between systems, enhancing functionality and streamlining workflows.

The complete set of digital interactions a customer has with a brand, from initial awareness through to post-purchase support and engagement. This journey includes touchpoints like websites, social media, email campaigns, and mobile apps, tracking the customer's path and optimizing it for better engagement and satisfaction.

DND

Do Not Disturb, a registry that allows consumers to opt-out of receiving promotional messages. This service helps users avoid unsolicited marketing messages and calls.

Messaging as a Platform (MaaP)

A comprehensive messaging service framework that integrates various communication channels and services into a single, cohesive platform, enhancing functionality and user experience. MaaP supports SMS, MMS, RCS, and other messaging formats, providing a unified messaging solution.

O

Omnichannel Customer Suite

A unified and seamless customer experience suite for multiple communication channels. This suite integrates various channels like email, SMS, OTT, voice, social media, phone, and in-store interactions to provide a cohesive customer journey. It uses single API and Smart Routing to simplify multi-channel management and optimize performance, cost, and engagement.

OTP

One-Time Password, a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction. OTPs enhance security by providing a temporary and unique code for authentication.

RCS

Rich Communication Services, a protocol between mobile-telephone carriers and between phone and carrier, aiming at replacing SMS messages with a text-message system that is richer and can transmit in-call multimedia. RCS supports features like high-resolution images, GIFs, audio, videos, documents, location sharing, and interactive buttons. It allows businesses to create engaging and interactive messages, improving the overall user experience.

Secure Messaging

Communication methods that ensure the privacy and security of messages exchanged between parties, often through encryption and authentication techniques. Secure messaging ensures that sensitive information remains confidential and protected from unauthorized access.

SMS Gateway

A service that allows a computer to send or receive Short Message Service (SMS) transmissions to or from a telecommunications network. SMS gateways facilitate the integration of SMS capabilities into software applications.
