Job Role

  • Professionals in this group provide legal counsel and guidance which are specific to the region/country. They work in legal areas about sales contracts, real estate contracts, environmental issues, labor law, etc.  
  • Under general supervision responsible for handling a variety of moderately complex assigned legal projects.  
  • May have responsibility for a significant case business unit or client assignments.  
  • May be assigned along functional or business lines and provides technical legal specialty support.  
  • May train or direct the work of lower-level professionals. The position requires senior-level legal skills .

What you'll be responsible for?

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to operational areas in India to ensure that India's current and proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations.  
  • Support India's legal and Corporate Compliance divisions by coordinating the corporate compliance activities needed such as training and focused campaigns and managing appropriate Compliance Committee meetings.  
  • Identify and address issues of legal and compliance risks in the organization.  
  • Support the Legal Director in preparing contracts, letters, and other documents related to a variety of trade, commercial, promotional, regulatory, financial, and other operational matters to protect the company assets and the overall organization's legal and business interests.  
  • Support the Legal Director on active and /or defence litigation including ensuring proper representation by outside counsel (while securing case reporting and strategic alignment).  
  • Report (and interpret/enforce) court or government authority/agency decisions, statutes, and regulations and advise the Legal Director on pending developments in these areas.  
  • Interact/negotiate with the legal representatives of customers, trade associations, and government authorities/agencies, including law-enforcement agencies.  
  • Provide advice and support on all IP activities and developments in the country.  
  • Provide support and advice in matters related to lab or laws, industrial relations, employments contracts, and conditions of employment.  
  • Implement a legal emergency plan regulating reactions to law-enforcement activities.  

Qualification and other skills

What you'd have?

  • 10 – 13 Years of Work experience with a master’s degree in law is preferred.  
  • Knowledge of FEMA, SEBI, Trademark, and Patent-should deal independently with respective Agencies, lawyers, etc.  
  • Relevant & proven experience in contract negotiation and drafting and compliance.  
  • Proven track record of providing accurate and effective legal counsel
  • Master’s degree in law with a relevant track record of legal undertakings
